NEWS:
- TRIAL BY WATER by critically acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen will receive its World Premiere in an Off-Broadway production presented by Ma-Yi Theater Company at the Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street) in New York. Previews begin March 12, 2006, prior to an official press opening March 26. John Gould Rubin, member of the LABryinth Theater Company, directs.
- Ma-Yi Theater Company is collaborating with The Foundry Theatre and Hip Hop Theater Festival in organizing a delegation of artists to attend the World Social Forum in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2007. The groups are currently in discussion with artists from Cambodia, Great Britain, Iran, Philippines, Russia, and the United States to create an exhibition/seminar during the WSF conference.
- Ma-Yi Theater Company is selected to participate in ARTOGRAPHY: Arts in a Changing America, a pilot program administered by Leveraging Investments in Creativity and supported by The Ford Foundation. ARTOGRAPHY1s goals are to recognize, strengthen, and chart the expanding realm of cultural aesthetics and organizational practices as seen through a lens of the changing demographics in the United States.
