Carla Ching is an Angeleno transplant and a former high school English teacher and teaching artist in NYC public and private schools for five years. Her work with Peeling appeared at The Puffin Room, NYU, Cornell University, Columbia University, Rutgers University. The Asian American Writers Workshop. Second Stage Theater and St. Mark1s Theater. She is also one third of LCC productions, the curators of Lemonade, a reading series for new work from established and emerging Asian American playwrights. Her plays have been produced or read by Lovecreek Productions (Aching for You), Desipina Productions (Dissipating Heat), No-Pants Theater Company (Caught), Above Ground Theater Company (First), Second Generation (TBA) and Ma-Yi Theater Company (American Blackjack). Multicultural Education was commissioned by the Ma-Yi Theater Company as part of the Performing Ethnicity Festival in 2004. She is also a member of The Actors Studio Playwright Director Workshop and the Dramatists Guild. |
